Like they say, time flies, and here we are in the second half of 2024. The summer holidays for the children whom we serve are almost over. Our Independence Day is just around the corner; a good time to restrengthen our resolve to do our part in trying to improve the future for the underprivileged school children. So…..

We renew our vows!

2024 so Far

Unfortunately, inflation in the past year has led to a sharp increase in food prices, making nutritious food less affordable for many families. Existing socioeconomic disparities are further exacerbated but we are doubling down. We have to; we are here for the long run.

The good news is that we have empirical data to show that school enrollment increases by up to 40% after we have started our meal program in a government school. Through the teachers, we also have anecdotal information that the learning of the children improves. Both these impact metrics prove what the world of school meal programs already knows.

This further reinforces our resolve. Yay!

Kitchen Expansion

In even more exciting news, we are embarking on investing in the expansion of our present kitchen. Presently, we are operating at full capacity, and it is time to do what we must do to increase our impact, doubling capacity from 1,500 meals to 3,000 meals. Plans have been drawn up and now we are raising funds to execute the project (Rs. 4.1 million are required). Soon, we shall be able to add more schools to our present network of 11 schools.

As always, we can’t thank our supporters enough for having brought us this far. Our journey has just begun but we are not worried because we know that we have all of you walking alongside.
